What has your company produced? For what studios or networks? Rio Vista Universal has a pipeline of 30+ projects with various partners which range from Animation, Film, TV scripted and unscripted to taking tech companies public to launching a new sports league. We were the main production company for Gear Heads, Nitro Jam, and Back from the Dead, distributed in both domestic and international markets through partners like MavTV, Discover, South African Business Channel, and other major European networks. We’ve had a film accepted to Cannes International Film Festival and are also involved in several productions such at Latino Media Visions, securing distribution, funding for feature films and specialized as fixers for independent film makers.
What genres are you looking for? We are looking for Contained Action, Thriller, SciFi Paranormal. Roll for A-List actor. We will look at other genres, but the ones listed are easy for us to complete and get coveted pre-sales from distributors.
Film, TV, New Media, Other? TV: I’m an Emmy Judge, and TV Academy TV Executive. We have 15 series in development with numerous companies. We will continue our unscripted slate and expand out scripted slated.

Film: We currently have sourced financing for individual films and slates. We are aggressively closing multiple slate funded for our company and partners.

New Media: We evaluates carefully on a regular basis the financial viability of new media. We are working with partners who already have a working financial model.

Commercials: We are currently negotiating new campaigns with fortune 500 companies.

Budget range? Film typical 1-10 million, although we have a few that go to 40 million and on occasion a micro budget.
What makes the ideal writer for your company? Easy to work with, Fast, Can deliver on deadlines. Can take notes. Unique voice, No cliches. Scenes that have not been seen before. Feels fresh and not derivative. Formatted well, plenty of white space, easy fast read. Read all recent scripts that have sold. 90 page screenplays.
What are your goals for the Great American PitchFest? Discover fresh, new untapped talent with shoot ready scripts.
Have you had success at pitching events before? Yes. We and our partners are working with writers from previous event. One is fully financed and scheduled to shoot this summer.
Do you have any GAPF success stories you can share with us from previous years? Yes, picked up 3 films last year at GAPF. One writer grabbed my attention and would not let go. Have some others that we’re circling.
Is there any advice you would like to offer the writers who are pitching you? Know your material. Do your homework. Know what has been previous done in your genre and has recently sold. Who’s your market? Make sure your script is shoot ready. Doesn’t need more development.
