What makes the ideal writer for your company? Willing to invest in his or her own or their own selves whatever it takes to withstand the rigors of an intensely difficult business. In the MFM universe, the writer is engaged in the marketing of their own material. One new writer we met at Scriptfest 2015, and coached, received a Recommend from professional coverage. Only 1% of all scripts receive Recommend designation. Another reviewer called it a “Masterpiece”.

One script we coached and produced was released worldwide. The writer: first script ever wrote; first production ever. Resulting in: Production Presentation Credit, Produced By Credit, Solo Screenwriter Credit, Producer fees, Writer fees. $10m budget.

We do not guarantee the same will happen for you, but if you never try, never go for it, then it will definitely never happen for you. What we have learned over many years of experience in the business is this:  Something can get done. If you do it. We will try to help you.

What are your goals for the Great American PitchFest?
Have you had success at pitching events before? Three of the four films in development (listed above) were found at pitch events.
Do you have any GAPF success stories you can share with us from previous years? Three of the four films in development (listed above) were found at the Great American PitchFest. All those three are being read at A-List companies. A film we were pitched at GAPF 2003, our first ever Scriptfest attendance, we helped develop into an award-winning production.
Is there any advice you would like to offer the writers who are pitching you? During the pitch, relax and have a conversation with us. Be able to get the story across to us in less than a minute, and be prepared to just talk with us as people for the last four minutes. Forget about pitching us. We want to get to know you a little bit.
