Partial Client List IPG represents screenwriters and authors, specializing in the book-to-film space. Clients include Paul Haggis, Dennis Lehane, James Ellroy, Clive Barker, Joyce Carol Oates, and many others.
How many writers do you represent? I personally represent 8
What is your percentage? 10%
How much promotion do you do for your clients? How much do you expect them to do? I don’t understand the question.
What do you look for in the writers you choose to represent? What should they look for when trying to choose an agent? I look for people with a genuine voice that is evident on the page; not just someone throwing cool ideas at the wall to try to make a sale.
What type of material are you looking for? Sci-fi, horror, and thriller. Open to comedy as well. Mostly a genre guy.
How long are the terms of signing on with you? Term periods aren’t really a thing in Hollywood representation.
Are you looking for interns? Yes. Unpaid interns are constantly needed to help us with our office tasks and reading load.
Do you only represent screenwriters, or do you rep other types of writers? Screenwriters, authors, directors, and IP.
Do you represent other types of talent? (Directors, Actors, etc.) IPG reps directors.
Have you had success at pitching events before? Yes
Do you have any GAPF success stories you can share with us from previous years? No
Is there any advice you would like to offer the writers who are pitching you? Keep it brief and to the point. Don’t let anyone’s eyes glaze over as they listen to your pitch, or you’ve lost them.
