Prolific screenwriters Chad Hayes & Carey Hayes have been professional screenwriters since their early 20’s. Since writing THE CONJURING, they have been in high demand, writing REDEMPTION, a western for New Line, CONJURING 2, the sequel to their worldwide hit, and SAN ANDREAS, the tent-pole action thriller starring Dwayne Johnson. They have written a pilot for A&E based on the haunted town of Amityville, and are currently in development on JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH 3 & 4 for New Line, SEAL TEAM 666, a new action franchise for MGM, a remake of THE ENTITY for Fox, THE TURNING for Dreamworks, and ANGELS for Mark Burnett and Roma Downey under their UA deal. Presently they’re casting their first independent film, CRUCIFIXION, which they wrote, and are producing with Peter Safran, for a summer shoot in Romania.
Identical twins, The Hayes Bros got their first break after writing an attention grabbing spec script, which led to a three picture deal at 20th Century Fox, and their first feature script “Lookers,” with Lawrence Mark producing.
The brothers have been prolific in both features and television. They have written 13 telefilms including USA Cable’s “Down, Out and Dangerous” and NBC’s “Twisted Desire.” They wrote and executive produced “Horse Sense” for the Disney Channel, as well as its sequel, “Jumping Ship,” both of which starred the Lawrence brothers.
Chad and Carey wrote TBS Superstation’s “First Daughter” which, at the time, was the most viewed cable movie in the history of television, then went on to write its two sequels, “First Shot” and “First Target,” as well as “Shutterspeed” for TNT, and “Forth and Long” for TBS with John Woo attached.
They went on to write and co-produce the series, “The Crow,” staring Mark Dacascos, and served as writer producers on the development of the BeastMaster series for Alliance/Atlantis, where they had an overall deal. Added into the mix were numerous pilots for NBC, CBS, Fox, Spelling Entertainment, TBS and another overall deal Lions Gate Entertainment.
Their early feature work includes projects for producer Joel Silver and Dark Castle Entertainment including the 2009 action/thriller “Whiteout,” (Kate Beckinsale) the 2007 thriller “The Reaping” (Hilary Swank) and the 2005 remake of the 1953 horror classic “House of Wax.” They’ve also penned projects for Scott Rudin, Mark Roybal, Arnold Kopelson, Michael Bay, Mark Platt and Roy Lee.
