How many writers do you represent? 15
What is your percentage? 90
How much promotion do you do for your clients? How much do you expect them to do? It’s always a partnership. Artists should take an active role in generating and promoting their art with the public at large and within the industry.
What do you look for in the writers you choose to represent? What should they look for when trying to choose an agent? I work best with world builders. I like writer and writer-directors who are looking to help execute their vision and find a platform for their art. Every artist is different, but it is important to have transparency and trust in these relationships.
What type of material are you looking for? Drama, Action, Noir, Comedy. Solid writing in any catagory.
How long are the terms of signing on with you? No set term.
Are you looking for interns? Always looking for interns! Interns mainly help with special projects that range from giving notes on trailer edits to generating project lists (cast, directors, writers), research for conventions like E3, GDC, or Sundance, or even helping build a website.
Do you only represent screenwriters, or do you rep other types of writers? I represent writers for film, television, animation, novelists, comic book writers, video game writers and performing artists.
Do you represent other types of talent? (Directors, Actors, etc.) I represent documentary filmmakers, talent for unscripted series, and game makers who design table top games as well as consult for game shows.
Have you had success at pitching events before? Yes. I signed several clients at festivals and made a deal with the Disney Channel to develop a book I found at a pitch festival.
Do you have any GAPF success stories you can share with us from previous years?
Is there any advice you would like to offer the writers who are pitching you? Your background and point of view as as storyteller is often just as important as the story you want to tell.
