Writing The TV Drama

This is a great time to write for television in all its forms. Opportunities abound in online platforms such as Netflix and Amazon as well as on premiere cable channels and traditional networks. Our current “golden era” encourages fresh subjects and approaches and new viewpoints. With more than 400 drama series currently in production in Los Angeles, paths into the industry do exist if you have the screenwriting skills to pursue them.

This 90 minute workshop will describe how to create pilots and episodic spec scripts, and how television shows work. That includes working on staff and the steps to getting “staffed.”

Some clips will be screened as demonstrations of writing principles, and will include advice on writing as well as careers. You’ll emerge with insights into how to write today’s TV drama series.
